1,000 homes, farms and businesses without power across the country this afternoon, mainly in western coastal counties.
Storm Jorge has brought strong wind and heavy rain as it moves across the country. On the roads, Galway County Council says there are a number of reported fallen trees in the Derrydonnel area of Oranmore.
As storm Jorge batters the country with high winds and driving rain present many dangers on the roads for large vehicles in particular, this is some dash cam footage showing a lorry being blown over Galway this morning.

Met Éireann has issued Status Orange wind warning is in effect for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare. It will remain in place until midnight and gusts of between 120km/h and 130km/h are likely in places.
A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
Remaining in place until 10pm and gusts of between 90km/h and 110km/h are likely in places.
