Some people are luckier than others of course. Like Denis O’Brien

We all dream about winning the lottery. But you need to be lucky. VERY lucky. Some people are luckier than others of course. Like Denis O’Brien. Denis has been a multi-million winner, not once but twice. First Denis entered his ESAT Digifone company in the draw for Ireland’s second mobile phone licence in 1995. Michael Lowry drew the winning ticket. And Denis’ name came out of the hat. Lucky Denis..
Denis flogged the licence soon after and hightailed it off to the Algarve to avoid paying millions in tax to Ireland.

Dinny travelled the world and made good money but in 2012 he decided to try his luck again. IRBC bank wanted to flog Siteserv, a utilities company with debts of €150 million. Lucky Lucky Dinny came up with the right numbers again. 45-000-000. Even better for Ireland’s luckiest man Siteserv subsidiary GMC Sierra scooped a big prize soon after from Big Phil Hogan – the main water metering installation contract. Lucky, lucky Denis.

If you’re not in you can’t win. And if you’re in and you happen to know a Lowry or a Kenny or a Noonan or a Hogan, I guess your chances of scooping the jackpot are much much better. Just ask Dinny.
