By John Fairclough
What of your promises long since broken?
Of this brave new Ireland of which you’ve spoken?
You’ve stolen and pillaged by changing the rules,
You think we Irish people are fools!
Power and wealth are your only master,
Your only plan to plunder faster.
With scant regard for citizens rights
Your Garda force will fight your fights.
You beat the people for simply standing,
Give us the rights we are demanding.
When we take you down it won’t be surprising,
One hundred years on is the real people’s rising.
